Peter Dale

was born and raised in Western Washington, where he has spent his entire professional career as a ski patroller and mountain guide. He has worked at Crystal Mountain in various roles, including ski patroller, forecaster, patrol director, and mountain manager, while also guiding on Mt. Rainier and in the North Cascades during the summer. His passion for ski touring and ski mountaineering led him to develop a deep interest in snow safety, which eventually evolved into a career in avalanche mitigation. Forecasting and witnessing wet slab cycles each spring continue to keep him humble and curious, with the most impactful moments often occurring when simply “checking the box.” In the summer, he enjoys mountain biking and occasional guiding stints.
